Arnold Silverman Promethium Board of Directors

Arnold Silverman

​

Arnold Silverman is a former CEO that has spent his career helping to build transformative companies. In addition to becoming President of Dymo Industries, he was also the CEO of ICOT Corporation, where they engineered a turn-around of the company. He also led the company’s acquisition of Amati Communications and ultimately the company’s strategic sale to Texas Instruments. He was a founding board member of Oracle, Informatica and Business Objects, which was acquired by SAP in 2007.

He also created Discovery Ventures, LLC, a venture capital firm focused on early-stage investment in software companies with market leadership potential in emerging technologies, in 1995 in order to help other entrepreneurs create companies of lasting value. Some of Discovery’s most notable investments include: Informatica (NASDAQ: INFA), Kiva Software (acquired by Netscape), Epiphany, and TimesTen Performance Software (acquired by Oracle).

He has been on the Board of the UC Berkeley Foundation since 2004 and currently chair the Finance Committee. Additionally, he was elected Chairman of the AeA (American Electronics Association) in its 50th anniversary year. He holds a B.S. and an M.S. degrees from the University of California, Berkeley and an MBA from Columbia University.
